Blueberry Delite

This 'Rabbit Eye' Blueberry not only tastes good it looks good in the garden as well. The berries are small, light blue, have an excellent flavour and ripen around March. Plant in sun or part shade in nice rich acid soil for best results. Evergreen.

Blueberry O'Neal

Southern Highbush Blueberry. A vigorous, upright grower that produces very large fruit with a mild sweet flavour. Plant in the sun in rich acid soil. Will perform better with a companion which should also be a 'Highbush' variety. Deciduous.

Blueberry Petite Blue

Southern Highbush Blueberry. Produces small but very sweet and tasty fruit in generous quantities over quite a long period in summer. Does well in warmer parts of NZ as long as planted in nice rich acid soil. Will perform best if planted with a companion. Deciduous.

Blueberry Powder Blue

Rabbit-eye Blueberry. An evergreen American variety that is suitable for warmer areas of NZ. The sweet blue berries are of a good size and high quality and produced in generous quantities around March. Plant in the sun, in rich acid soil. Best planted with a companion. Evergreen.

Blackberry Karaka

Exceptionally large, deep shiny black fruit that are packed full of flavour. Fruits for a long period but the main crop ripens in early summer. Plant in sun or part shade in nice deep acid soil for best results. Deciduous.

Blueberry Centurion

A 'Rabbit-eye' variety of Blueberry that crops well with clusters of medium sized dark firm fruit with a great flavour. Recommended for warmer districts. Pollinate with 'Tifblue' to ensure good crops. Plant in a sunny position in acid soil that does not dry out in summer. Deciduous.

Blueberry Misty

An attractive Southern Highbush selection with bright blue-green foliage. Medium sized berries of excellent quality and flavour. Recommended for warmer areas of NZ. Partially self fertile, but will produce bigger and better crops if pollinated with 'Marimba' or 'Petite Blue'. Deciduous.

Blueberry Tifblue

This 'Rabbit-eye' variety is is a tall, vigorous upright grower. Large, light blue berries full of flavour ripen towards the end of summer. Pollinate with 'Delite' or 'Powder Blue' to ensure good crops. Plant in a sunny position in acid soil that does not dry out in summer. Deciduous.

Boysenberry

Boysenberries with their sweet taste and just a hint of sharpness to awaken your taste buds are a delicious summer treat. Perfect to eat fresh or for making jams and preserves. Easy to grow but it best to provide some horizontal support. Boysenberries fruit on 2nd year canes. Deciduous.

Tayberry

We can thank the Scots for the 'Tayberry' which is a cross between a 'Blackberry' and a 'Raspberry'. Delicious sweet and aromatic large berries which are best consumed fresh. Pick when they are deep maroon colour. Plant in sun or semi-shade in deep acid soil. Deciduous.

White Currant White

This is an albino form of the Red Currant which has almost translucent fruits with low acidity. Delicious picked & eaten straight off the bush. Happiest in morning sun in any average soil that does not dry out too much in summer. Adding some organic matter will improve performance. Deciduous.

Blueberry Blue Joy

This Blueberry has fruit that is ready to eat from early summer. Packed full of Vitamin C the generous crops of medium sized, mild flavoured berries will hold on the bush for long periods without loss of fruit quality. Vigorous and hardy. Happiest in rich acid soil. Deciduous.

Currant Red

Red currants are a great source of vitamin C. They are easy to grow and form attractive shrubs in the home landscape. The fruit can be picked fresh (if you beat the birds) or used for jams, jellies, juices and pies. Freezes well. Ripe around December-January. Deciduous.

Ranuiberry

This is an attractive hybrid berry that was developed in NZ. A bit like a Boysenberry to look at but with firmer fruit. The fruit have a sweet flavour and ripen about November. Happiest in a sunny sheltered position in soil that does not dry out in summer. Deciduous.

Cape Gooseberry

An old-fashioned favourite that is popular for jams and preserves. The inconspicuous flowers are followed by delicious berries enclosed in papery husks. Harvest when the husks are coloured light brown. Needs a sunny, sheltered position. Frost tender, perennial.

Lysium Barbarum

The Goji Berry is an ancient medicinal and culinary plant from Asia that is highly valued for its therapeutic qualities. Green foliage, purple and white flowers in summer followed by nutrient packed red berries. Grows best in a sunny well drained position. Self-pollinating, hardy and deciduous.

Currant Black Magnus

The Black Currant produces a fruit that is high in Vitamin C with a tart sharp taste. 'Magnus' is disease resistant, a reliable producer and has an upright habit. The currants are ripe late Dec-Jan. Delicious and deciduous.

Gooseberry Early
